A study on impact of auxin and elicitors on tissue culture and proliferation of nigella sativa l

Author (s):

Elham Khabir and Pejman Moradi

Abstract:

Nigella Sativa is an annual garden flowering plant, belonging to the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It is native to southern Europe, North Africa and Southwest Asia, where it is found on neglected, damp patches of land. Black cumin seed contains oil; protein; alkaloids such as nigellicimine and nigellidine; kinons such as timokinon and saponin; and Volatile essence. It is used as a homeopathy cure for respiratory conditions such as asthma, cough, bronchitis, etc. Tissue culture is one of the techniques which are used in biotechnology and plant breeding and it is among the most powerful materials for propagation and breeding. Accordingly, a study was conducted in the tissue culture laboratory of the Laboratory Complex, Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, Tehran, to investigate the effect of different hormones densities on internode and hypocotyl regarding different characteristics like the number of shoots and roots, their lengths, their fresh and dry weights, the fresh and dry weights of callus and its volume in March 2015. Hormone treatments included BA with the densities of 0.5, 1, and 2 5M, NNA with the densities of 0, 0.5, and 1 5M, and SA with the densities of 0 and 1 5M. The results indicated that the maximum number of shoots and roots, length of roots, dry weight of roots, fresh weight of shoots, fresh weight of callus and its volume were observed in the hormone density of BA=2, NAA=1, and SA=1. In addition, the longest shoot was observed in the hormone density of BA=0.5, NAA=0, and SA=0. No statistically significant interaction was identified between the hormone treatment and the dry weight of callus, the fresh weight of root, and the dry weight of shoot. Also, there wasn t any statistically significant interaction between hormone treatment and the sampling places on the characteristics on the probability level of 5%.

Toxic heavy metals accumulation in tomato plant (Solanumlycopersicum)

Author (s):

Nida M. Salem, Luma S. Albanna and Akl M. Awwad

Abstract:

Elemental analysis of the roots, stems, leaves, and fruits of tomato was performed using scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) and Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). irrigation water of tomato plants were found free from heavy toxic metals, (Zn, Cd, Co, Cr, Mn), but have traces of Cu and Pb. Traces of Zn, Cu, Cr, Pb, and Mn were detected in the soil. EDS analysis showed that toxic heavy metals Pb, Co, Cr, Mn, Ti, Zn, and Cu were detected and accumulated in the roots system of tomato, only Pb tranbsfered from the root to stems. Fe found to be accumulated in all parts of tomato plant.

Abstract:

Allocation of resources is one of the principal concepts in economics and assessment of is the most important index of optimal allocation. Considering shortage production agents and the necessity for optimal use of these agents, assessment comes into play as a key basis of development projects with its great role in extentasian and development of projects especially in developing countries. Decision-making based of the gains of plans in relation with the performed costs constitutes the basis of the economic assessment of a project. Therefore, in every producing area, conductance of financial and economic estimations is crucial in order to investigate, justify, and prioritize different activities. The sericulture development and side silk industries projects were established in the Shaft town, of Guilan Province by the Corporation of Sericulture of Guilan Province in 2013. These projects includ 4 phans (Cultivation of modified mulberry seedling, Construction of sericulture site, Construction of silk-pulling site, Weaving silk texture and local clothes). This research has dealt with the assessment of the mentioned plans. The aim of this investigation is to evaluate the extendibility plans of sericulture and spindling workshops through assessment indexs including the Payback Period, Payback Period Reverse, Acconting Rate of Return, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, The Benefits to cost ratio and The profitability Index. The obtained results indicated that all of the three considered scenarios (development of a silkworm rearing site, development of a spindling workshop, and development of both sites) were economically justifiable.

Abstract:

In Indonesia, soybean was a strategic food commodities, as the sixth soybean producer country of the world, until now, Indonesia still importing a big amount of soybean from the other countries, it makes Indonesia reach the ninth position of soybean importer country of the world, until 2019, the estimation of the deficit is up to 204%.The objectives of this studied was analyzing variables and indicators that can increase the amount of soybean production. This research was conducted by surveys, interviews and questionnaire at the relevant agencies were Department of Agriculture food crops, farmers' groups combined, Group Farming and individual national soybean farmers of Jember and Banyuwangi, the secondary data was obtained from the previous research s road map, the previous research related documents and the public web. The researchused9variabelswith37indicators.The data was analyzed by SWOT . The result showed that the right strategy was the Aggressive strategy that are: 1). Eight items weakness, 2). Realising sixteen items opportunities, 3). Eight items maintain strength and 4). Eliminating / change two items threat.
