Abstract
The use of inspection cars in monitoring facilities and infrastructure is very necessary to reduce energy and save time. Manado State Polytechnic has a fairly large area, so this inspection car will be very useful for surveillance mobility. In this research, an inspection car will be designed and manufactured with a hybrid solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery drive. The parts to be designed include the chassis, body, and transmission. Meanwhile, the prime mover will use an AC electric motor, powered by solar PV and batteries. Before entering the manufacturing process, Pro Engineer software is first used to analyze the loading on the inspection car. The parts analyzed are mainly the body and frame without load and with passenger load to determine the capacity of the car. In parallel, electrical assembly was carried out for the electric motor drive using solar PV and a hybrid battery.
